This week’s Moment of Bliss is about a truly inspiring campaign, the Betty White Challenge. What would have been the legendary Betty White’s 100th birthday on January 17th 2022 was celebrated by her many fans by meeting the #bettywhitechallenge to donate to organizations helping animals. By Friday the 21st, $12.7 million had been raised for various animal shelters, zoos and rescue groups on Facebook and Instagram!!!
That amount isn’t even counting the donations that have come in since, nor the ones made through other platforms!
Bliss co-founder Ruth mentioned the challenge on her livestream on Betty’s birthday and directed viewers to give directly to St. Vincent Meals on Wheels’ Bone Appetit program, which provides pet food and supplies to isolated seniors with pets. Several personal donations were also made to wonderful organizations like W-Underdogs and the Cat Café Lounge.
This collective action by so many animal lovers and Betty White fans will have a profound impact on the animals helped by these organizations and the staff and volunteers who carry out their mission of love.
