The Pirate Kitty of Fernly Hills delighted neighbors with “stolen” presents before finding the ultimate treasure: his forever family.

This story of a cat burglar is sure to steal your heart! Kylo, a ginger cat living in Fernly Hills in north Brisbane, Australia, took it upon himself to make new residents the McCalls welcome by coming by for pets and also bringing them little gifts that he’d leave in their backyard. The gifts were mostly toys and other small items and after 6 months of this, the McCalls had accrued a large pile of items. So they did what folks do these days- they posted a picture of the items in a community group to ask their neighbors to claim items that belonged to them.

The post took off, with dozens of people commenting that they had been visited by the cat or recognizing items. Everyone fell in love with him and “he became a community icon,” says Kay McCall. The comments eventually reached into the hundreds and they were able to track down his family to confirm he had a loving home.

A few months later, however, that family decided it was in Pirate Kitty’s best interests to find him a new home since they struggled to keep him inside. They reached out to Mrs. McCall who created a post which was seen by long-time Pirate Kitty fan, Ingrid Moyle, whose family has a long history of fostering and rescuing cats. He now lives a very happy indoor-cat life with his own giant box of toys! You can follow his exploits via Instagram here.

Kylo has really settled into his role as a foster uncle for the other cats who come through the McCall home.

He also apparently gets visits from the McCalls and other families, and he still has his status as the community’s Pirate Kitty. Kylo is credited with being a large bright spot during the pandemic for a whole community, and we hope his story brings you a Moment of Bliss!
