As the Olympic trials run their course ahead of the Tokyo games later this summer, there have been several standout moments. One in particular that we’d like to highlight is the win by Sha’Carri Richardson in the 100m dash. The 21-year-old athlete from Texas has sprinted to stardom as her name becomes known by fans across the world.
Her confidence can come across as swagger, but in interviews she is authentic and vulnerable, while still conveying a self-assuredness that exists both on and off the track. What’s clear is that she is focused on overcoming life’s obstacles and heartbreaks to win the gold, and is not about to let anything get in the way of her dreams.
We wish Sha’Carri and all of the Tokyo-bound athletes well as they prepare themselves for this summer’s games.
