What could be better than an impromptu dance party? How about a planned moment of surprise, delight, community and fun?!
Organized by street performance group Improv Everywhere and featuring the dance troupe Dynamic Rockers, Stand Here For Dance Party was a wonderful mixture of performance art and culture jamming. The effects on the surprised on-lookers become immediately apparent in the video, as they transition from confusion to wonder to joy. That effect is magnified ten-fold in the brave and curious folks whose cautious step onto the yellow sticker is what triggers the “spontaneous” dance party.
