Get the tissues ready and read this heart-warming story of a stray cat named Tom being reunited with his family, thanks to the care and efforts of local non-profit Stray Cat Alliance.

We’ll save the story-telling for the Instagram post above, and instead share why we’re shining the spotlight on SCA for our monthly Non-Profit Spotlight. For over 20 years, founder Christi Metropole has worked with a team of volunteers to offer knowledge and assistance to people who want to help stray cats. They have a “big picture” approach that includes Trap & Release (also known as TNR), colony care and fostering.

They have saved the lives of tens of thousands of cats while empowering concerned humans to care for strays and feral cats humanely and responsibly. Their mission is straightforward: Building a No-Kill Nation, One Stray at a Time.

Anyone who knows us knows we are huge cat-lovers and have 4 rescues of our own, including our very own Tom, aka Kangaroo Tom, who is our sweet foster fail. Shout out to Julia and A Dog’s Life Rescue for their help during our Tom’s journey. We did receive advice from SCA during that time as well, and we support them and their mission!
