This year, the Superbowl’s half-time show will be that much more inclusive, thanks to the presence of two deaf rappers who will be signing during the performances.
Dr. Dre, the headliner for the 2022 Superbowl Halftime, has added two deaf rappers to the star-studded line-up that also features Mary J. Blige, Snoop Dogg, Eminem and Kendrick Lamar. Sean Forbes and Warren (WaWa) Snipe will be performing alongside some of the biggest names in music. They won’t just be interpreting, either. Both are accomplished performers and will be adding to the music their own energy, flourishes and artistry.
“The doors to accessibility are busted wide open with something like this.”
Sean Forbes
This won’t be WaWa’s first time on the field- he was the interpreter for the pre-game performances in February 2021- but it does mark the first time a deaf person will be on-stage during the most-watched performance of the year. This is a big stride forward for folks with disabilities, and we here at Bliss think it’s one more reason to watch the show!
