When promoting your event, fundraiser or anything else, the right message or messenger can attract some of the most interesting visitors! Don’t be afraid to advertise in spaces that you haven’t thought of before.
Be the Match, a bone marrow donor directory, was able to add thousands of potential donors to its list by partnering with the Love, Hope, Strength Foundation and heavy metal super stars GWAR. In fact, I was one of those that was signed up, which lead to me eventually getting a call that I was a potential match! There are many small communities such as heavy metal fans to K-pop fans and more, than when inspired are more than willing to come together and move mountains. When you are looking for your next pool of volunteers don’t limit yourself and you will see how much further we all can go.
