While many pet owners will say that their pets have saved them metaphorically, British cat owner Sam Falstead can say that hers actually saved her life!
Billy, a British shorthair who is normally not a lap cat, woke his human in the middle of the night and she realized she was unable to move and felt unwell. She called out to her mum Karen who took her to the hospital where it was confirmed that she had had a heart attack.
The doctors made it clear they thought that Milly’s quick actions saved Sam’s life as she was able to receive medical care so quickly.
Animal behaviorists say that it’s very likely that Billy was made aware something was wrong through twitching, noises or even changes in Sam’s odor.
Though they can come across as aloof and uninterested (though honestly that does not describe our cats one bit, Billy the cat has reminded us all to be observant of those around us. It is so important to be connected to other living creatures.
