By focusing on making a proven life-saving tool accessible to all, Sea Tow is saving lives.

Studies show that wearing a life jacket can be the difference between life and death in all sorts of water-based situations. The folks behind Sea Tow Foundation believe that by making life jackets accessible through their loaner program, they are making sure that everyone has access to this crucial life-saving tool. Boaters can borrow one and then return it after they are done using it, removing barriers like cost and availability.

After Capt. Joe Frohnhoefer witnessed too many boating accidents and fatalities that could have been prevented, he founded the nonprofit in 2007 to provide resources and education to eliminate them.

Since then, Sea Tow has distributed over 90,000 life jackets to local businesses and organizations! They also recently opened their 1,000th Life Jacket Loaner Station in Clearwater, FL. They have locations in all 50 states, plus Washington, D.C., American Samoa, and the Virgin Islands. You can find one near you with this interactive map. They offer all sorts of resources and have other safety programs as well, like their Sober Skipper program.

It is truly amazing what we can do towards addressing and eradicating a deadly problem when we dedicate ourselves to finding and executing the solution. Kudos to the team at the Sea Tow Foundation!
