In “Back To The Future”, Marty McFly tells a gymnasium full of teenagers, “I guess you guys aren’t ready for that.” That actor, Michael J. Fox, says the opposite to his fellow Parkinson’s sufferers- he knows they are ready for a cure. Past ready, really- Fox himself has lived with the progressive nerve-system condition for the past 30 years, and has raised over $1.5 billion to help find a cure.
Already advances have been made, but the fight isn’t over and Fox says he won’t stop fighting until there’s a cure. His foundation‘s advocacy and fundraising has made a huge impact, though, and his willingness to tap his star power and bring in his famous friends to support the cause is a testament to his dedication to ending the suffering caused by the disorder.
Whether you’re Doc Hollywood or someone who is brand-new to nonprofit fundraising, the sky’s the limit of the impact you can have!
